Do You See What I See? A New Book

Do You See What I See? A New Book

I started working on this book a couple of months ago with about 200 images in mind and with help, slowly whittled away at the pile, finally getting it down to 75. I think the sub-title sums up the concept pretty well, “A Random Journey Through My Lens”, something that covers the spectrum of what I post here on a daily basis.

What I really enjoyed about putting this book together was the fact that the process is the complete opposite of doing the blog. On the blog, images go up, get pushed down. And down again until they disappear off of the front page. It’s difficult to create any correlation between images because it’s the nature of the medium. The book I did on Bolivia was relatively simple to pull together because it only had one subject, Bolivia. With this book, I wanted each spread to provide some context, for the images to have a relationship with each other. Trying to achieve that was both fun and at times painful because of the varied subject matter.

Hopefully, in the end, I’ve succeeded at doing what I originally set out to do.
