Originally constructed in 1873-75 as Hôtel National. It became the headquarters for the newly-created League of Nations in 1920 when Switzerland became a member. In 1924, the building was renamed Palais Wilson after the death of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson. It is currently the headquarters of The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
