I grew up going to the Prospect Park Zoo in Brooklyn, the Central Park Zoo and what has been a model for zoos around the world, The Bronx Zoo. I was shocked at my first visit to the L.A. Zoo. How does one of the largest cities in the world not have a first rate zoo? Boggles my mind…

Try as they might, they just can’t get it right in L.A. Many years ago, they promised us a world class zoo. We paid extra taxes. We paid higher admission rates. I took my kids often. Now they’re grown and the zoo there is still crap.
That gorilla looks pretty sad.
But it’s a good, expressive shot.
Great head shot Ron, hard to believe a city the size of L.A. has such a crappy zoo !!
Sure is Corina but it looks like they’re trying to fix it up…
She does Robin…
Thanks Bernie, yeah, I couldn’t believe i either…
Nice comment. They will have a first rate zoo someday. But they have to teach all the animals to drive first.
When I was about 6 years old we went to a zoo and I watched a tiger pee on a lady in a fur coat – funny that is the only thing I remember about the vist. I have not been to a zoo since, and by the look on the face of this sweet girl/boy I can only say I am glad.
((Love the new blog look Ron!))
