So after a long day, going from Coroico to La Paz, we headed for Copacabana. Nobody told me that we needed to cross this channel to get on the road to Copacabana. It was pretty much pitch black when I saw this in front of me. I looked at Gary and Daniela and said “please tell me we’re not getting on the Titanic?” They laughed. And laughed, As did the 2 guys (far left) operating the Titanic when I focused my camera upon them. The guys on the ferry also shouted encouragement from afar, along the lines of “what’s the matter, you afraid of the Titanic?” Daniela and Gary continued to laugh, uncontrollably. I nodded to the guys on the Titanic….
So we drove onto another ferry (see what that’s like below from the next day) and crossed over to Tiquina. It was dark and the water was too rough to capture anything worthwhile to share the experience but about half way through, pondering the ferry fleets naming conventions, and taking into consideration that I didn’t look at the name of the vessel we were on, I looked at my companions and asked, “please tell me we’re not on the Andrea Doria”…

Here’s a look at what it all looks like and no, that’s not Staten Island in the background…

The fun and surreal part is seeing multiple ferries carrying all sorts of vehicles at the same time… but that’s another post.

LOL! I don’t think I could have gotten on the Titanic either.
None of those boats look terribly seaworthy. Or channel worthy, as the case happens to be.
I think it would have to be more than dark before I got on one of those things! Glad you were able to experience it for me
You’re welcom Truddle, I think
The funny part Robin was the guys screaming from the Titanic, in english with heavy spanish accents…
“hey gringo, yes we are the Titanic” heavy laughter…Come on, you’re not afraid of the Titanic gringo…more heavy laughter…
